On Sunday, around 7pm, the Dunlap Police Department received a call that a pedestrian had been stuck near the area of Ranken Ave. in Dunlap. Officers arrived on the scene and found the victim, Evan D. Abston with injuries. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Peyton R. Harris.
Officers investigated the accident and after speaking with several witnesses, found the altercation to be an alleged road rage incident. Harris was taken into custody on scene and charged with Vehicular Assault by Reckless Conduct. Harris will appear in Sequatchie County General Sessions Court on October 7, 2026.
Puckett EMS transported to Erlanger Hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
