Grundy County Correctional Officer Assaulted

On Monday, September 14, 2026, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office responded to an incident at the Grundy County Jail involving an inmate assaulting a correctional officer.
The correctional officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The incident remains under investigation. The inmate involved will face additional criminal charges related to the assault.
