A Stevenson, Alabama man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Scottsboro earlier this week.

According to the Scottsboro Police Department, officers conducted a traffic stop just after midnight on May 13 along U.S. Highway 72 due to improper equipment on the vehicle.
Police identified the driver as 47-year-old Steven Andrew Waters. Officers reportedly discovered Waters did not have a valid driver’s license and also had multiple outstanding warrants from neighboring counties.
During a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly located a clear plastic bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia.
Waters was arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail, where he was additionally held on the outstanding warrants.
He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
