Two people suffered serious injuries Tuesday afternoon following a crash on Highway 111 near Dunlap that temporarily caused delays on the highway as emergency crews responded to the scene.
According to reports, the crash occurred on Highway 111 at Holland Drive — near the Save-A-Lot grocery store — and involved two vehicles.
Emergency responders from several agencies were dispatched to the scene, where two individuals were found to have sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and vehicle extrication was not required on the scene.
One of the victims was airlifted from the scene to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment, while the second was transported by ground ambulance.
The Dunlap Police Department is investigated the the crash. Additional details regarding the identities and conditions of those involved have not yet been released.
Authorities have not announced any charges or contributing factors at this time.
