TBI Investigating Shooting Involving Off-Duty THP Trooper in Tracy City

TRACY CITY, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is examining the circumstances surrounding a shooting involving an off-duty Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper that occurred Monday night in Tracy City.

According to preliminary information, the incident happened in the area of Colyar Street. Authorities say an off-duty trooper was involved in a shooting that left one individual injured.

 

The injured person was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been released.

At the request of local authorities, TBI agents responded to the scene and have launched an independent investigation into the events leading up to the shooting.
