DUNLAP, Tenn. — Families in Sequatchie County will have access to free food bags this summer through a partnership with the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and Sequatchie County Middle School.
According to information released by organizers, Sequatchie County Middle School will serve as a pickup site for the Summer Sun Food and Fun program, which provides shelf-stable food items to families during the summer months when school is not in session.
The food bags will be available to all families on a first-come, first-served basis.
Pickup will take place in the bus loading area at Sequatchie County Middle School, located behind the school and across from the front parking lot of Griffith Elementary School.
Food distribution is scheduled from 1:15 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on the following Wednesdays:
- June 10, 2026
- June 17, 2026
- June 24, 2026
- July 1, 2026
- July 8, 2026
- July 15, 2026
- July 22, 2026
Organizers encourage families in need of assistance to arrive during the designated pickup times, as supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Summer Sun Food and Fun program is designed to help ensure children and families have access to nutritious food throughout the summer break.
