A crash involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) that occurred at approximately 9:30 AM CST on Friday, Nov. 14, has claimed the life of a Scottsboro man.

Brian K. Allen, 55, was fatally injured when the 2019 John Deere Gator ATV that he was driving, was struck by a 2018 Ford Flex. After the initial impact, the John Deere left the roadway and overturned into a ditch.

Allen was not using a seat belt at the time of crash, was ejected and pronounced deceased at the scene.

A passenger of the John Deere was injured and airlifted to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says that passenger was ejected and was not using a seat belt at the time of crash.

The Flex driver was also injured and transported to Huntsville Hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred on just south of Scottsboro on Swearengin Road near Rice Road, approximately four miles east of Grant, in Marshall County.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
