Motorists traveling along U.S. Highway 72 between Kimball and South Pittsburg experienced significant delays Friday afternoon following reports of two separate traffic crashes in the area.

According to comments from local residents on social media, one of the wrecks occurred near Andy’s convenience store, while a second crash was reported closer to the Interstate 24 interchange. Drivers reported heavy traffic congestion and slow-moving vehicles as emergency crews responded to both scenes.

Witnesses described at least one of the crashes as serious. One individual reported seeing a white pickup truck overturned on its side and stated that rescue crews appeared to remove part of the vehicle’s roof to reach an occupant trapped inside.

As of Friday evening, no official information had been released regarding the accidents, injuries, the number of vehicles involved, or the cause of either crash.
