Unemployment rates Drop in All Area Counties

Ninety-three of Tennessee’s 95 counties recorded lower unemployment rates in August 2023, according to new data from the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD).

Moore County had Tennessee’s lowest unemployment rate in August. At 2.4%, its statistic dropped 0.3 of a percentage point from July’s rate of 2.7%. Marion County fell from 4.7% to 4%. Sequatchie County went down from 4.7% to 3.9. Grundy County fell from 5% in July to 4.2% in August. Bledsoe County dropped from 6.2% to 5.2%, and in Hamilton County, the unemployment rate went down from 3.7% in July to 3.3% in August.
