The Pinta is Coming to Chattanooga

A replica of the ship Pinta is coming to Chattanooga from November 3-20. The vessel will be docked as a “floating museum” for tours at the Chattanooga Pier.

Columbus used the original version of Pinta and was the first ship to sight land on the famous October 12, 1492 voyage. The replica was launched in Brazil after three years of construction in 2005.

Dockside, educational tours will be available, as well as self-guided tours from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. daily while the ship is in Chattanooga. No reservations are necessary. Tickets can be purchased at the ship. Prices are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors/military (65+), and $6.00 for children (5 – 16). Children 4 and under are free.

Teachers or organizations wishing to schedule a 30-minute guided tour with a crew member during the weekdays should go to ninapinta.org/tour/html. Group tours require a minimum of 15 people.

Pinta was in Huntsville, AL, earlier this month and will be in Guntersville until October 8.
