Sheriff Bill Phillips and the men and women of the sheriff’s office are proud to congratulate Jail Administrator Justin Higdon as he has received the award of 2023 Division II Jail Administrator of the Year. Justin received his award on Tuesday, September 26, during a ceremony at the Tennessee Corrections Institute (T.C.I.) Annual Conference held in Gatlinburg, TN.
Administrator Higdon has been an employee of the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office since 2009 and was appointed to the position of Jail Administrator in 2020. Sheriff Phillips cited several great accomplishments surrounding the jail in Justin’s nomination form, including Tier 1 Accreditation, continuous annual inspections with no deficiencies, and other valued achievements.
