Busy Week for the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department

On Tuesday at 8:48 AM, the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched for mutual aid to I-24 EB at Exit 143 exit for a semi-truck fire.

Haletown Engine 2 responded alongside Monteagle and Sewanee Fire Departments and extinguished the flame, preventing it from spreading to the rear end of the semi-trailer.

No firefighters or passengers were injured. The FedEx truck is a total loss.

Wednesday, at 1:31 PM, HVFD responded to a brush fire reported by CSX Employees near the railroad tracks close to the tussle in Whiteside.

Haletown Engine 2 responded to the scene along with five firefighters and quickly contained the fire, then extinguished it. There were no injuries.

 

Also, on Wednesday, at 2:08 PM, HVFD reported to the 11500 block of Highway 41 for a motor vehicle crash that was a rollover with entrapment.

Haletown Rescue 1 responded to the scene. The victim self-extricated and was transported by Puckett EMS with minor injuries.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department, Puckett EMS, and Tennessee Highway Patrol also worked the scene.
