Earlier this month, we reported about a homicide that occurred in Dunlap on Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 4) at approx. 4:30 p.m., The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office responded to 47 Windridge Dr, Dunlap, TN.
63-year-old Keith Edward Kopecky called 911 and said he had shot his wife, 64-year-old Marcella “Marcy” Renee Ervin. Kopecky was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Homicide.
Kopecky’s preliminary and bond hearings were held Wednesday morning (Oct. 18) in General Sessions Court with Judge L. Thomas Austin presiding. His charge of Criminal Homicide was bound over to the Sequatchie County Grand Jury, and a bond of $250,000.00 was set with the following conditions if bond is made:
- G.P.S. monitoring set to no more than 100 miles from this county.
- Report to S.E.T.H.R.A. no less than once monthly.
- He is to surrender all guns and ammo to the sheriff’s office.
The victim and suspect are the only two who resided in the home, and the sheriff’s department has been told they were married, although she did not take his last name.
