The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office is advising citizens of a SCAM involving a telephone call appearing to be from the Sheriff’s Office. The caller advises an individual that they have a warrant or warrants out for their arrest, and to avoid going to jail, they must go to a local store and purchase a reloadable card to send money or send money using a cash app.
This SCAM is not new, but the Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind the citizens that we will never solicit money over the phone or advise you to purchase a reloadable card money card.
Never send money over the phone to any organization that you have not first verified the legitimacy of the request.
