Obituary:

Bentley Olivia Buchanan, 17, of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away suddenly on Friday, December 1, 2023.

Bentley, better known as “BOB” by her family, was well-known in the community both for her serving spirit and her love for animals, especially her dog Zara. There is nothing Bentley would not do for others. It was one of her best features outside of her honesty. Those who knew Bentley knew if you didn’t want an honest answer, you had better not ask. Oh, how she could light up a room with her smile. Bentley captured our hearts as a little girl and rattled our minds as a teenager.

Bentley was a Senior at Marion County High School, where she played Volleyball and Basketball. Like most Seniors, the best part of school was seeing her friends. Bentley worked at Tails Up where she truly enjoyed looking after and caring for her K9 family.

Bentley is deeply loved by her parents, Steven Buchanan and Allison Ferrell Buchanan, and siblings, Katlin, Corbin, and Blake Buchanan. She was cherished and spoiled by her grandparents Roy and Linda Ferrell, better known as Papa and Noni, and will be greatly missed by her aunts and uncles, Debra (Troy) Price, Portia Hamilton, Kevin (Sandy) Ferrell, Chris Ferrell, and Kelby Ferrell (Fiancé Tracy Rittenberry).

She is preceded in death by her maternal great-grandparents, James and Cleo Ferrell; paternal grandparents, George and Patricia Buchanan; her maternal great-aunt, Rosemary Beck; and her cousin Jonathan “Chase” Hamilton.

Bentley loved her family and friends, but it was her mother that gave her strength. Her mother was truly her best friend. While her mother was her best friend, she was her daddy’s twin. She was a daddy’s girl, even though neither of them would admit it. Bentley had the ability to get whatever she wanted from her daddy and would make him believe it was all his idea.

Bentley will be forever missed by so many and live in the hearts and minds of those who knew her best.
