Large Fire with Explosions on Saturday Night in Marion County

On Saturday night, just before 7:30, Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to Bessie Jones Road for a multiple structure fire with reports of explosions.

Haletown Engines 1 and 3 reported to the scene along with Jasper and Kimball Fire Departments.

Firefighters faced many challenges with this fire. Multiple structures, exploding propane, oxygen, and acetylene tanks, access issues, and no nearby hydrants. Firefighters worked hard for several hours battling all conditions.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire. The American Red Cross was notified to assist the displaced residents. No injuries were reported.
