Workers at Chattanooga Volkswagen Plant Overwhelmingly Vote to Join UAW Union

Friday night, employees at the Chattanooga Volkswagen plant voted to join the UAW union. This was the third attempt since the plant opened to unionize workers. After the ballots were tallied, employees voted overwhelmingly to join the union. The official National Labor Relations Board results reported 2,628-985 votes for union representation.

President Joe Biden released a statement congratulating workers at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga plant.

Meanwhile, Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee issued a statement before the vote saying he was against the UAW coming into the state.
