Update on Head-On Collision Involving Marion County Deputy Tim Cash

On Sunday night around 10:40, a head-on collision occurred involving Marion County Deputy Tim Cash. The crash took place on Hwy 41 near Marion County Park.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a 2024 Toyota RAV4 driven by 41-year-old Rumitkumar Patel from Alabama crossed the center lane and hit Cash’s patrol unit head-on. The THP reports that Patel has been charged with failure to maintain a lane of travel.

Cash, Patel, and three passengers (all from Alabama) in the Toyota were all injured. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
