South Pittsburg Baseball back in Action on Wednesday Morning in State Tournament

In their opening game in the TSSAA Class 1A State Baseball Tournament the South Pittsburg Pirates lost in a hard-fought game to the Oakdale Eagles on Tuesday afternoon.

Oakdale opened the scoring in the top of the fourth thanks to three singles.

Kamden Wellington went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead South Pittsburg. Bailey Fults and Luke Rector were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for the Pirates.

South Pittsburg will take on Union City in a must win game at 10 AM Wednesday. If the Pirates win, they’ll play again at 5 PM.
