The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) wants to inform travelers on Interstate-24 to be aware of some major traffic backups beginning Monday night, July 8 and Wednesday night, July 10.
TDOT says crews will be placing new beams for the replacement bridges at South Moore and McBrien Roads.
The work will be done at night, from 8 pm until 5 am. CT. They will use rolling roadblocks through the night to manage the traffic. Crews will shut down traffic in one direction while they move the steel beams.
Every 30 minutes, they will release traffic, before continuing. If possible, you are asked to avoid this area of the interstate.
As a reminder, bad weather could force them to reschedule.
