Dunlap Fire Department and TN Division of Forestry Respond to Brush Fire on Tuesday

Just after 5 PM CST on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, the Dunlap Fire Department responded to a brush/field fire on Davis Loop Road. The owners were burning piles of brush, and the wind caused the fire to spread to the adjoining field.

Chief Hatfield requested assistance from the TN Division of Forestry as the strong wind threatened to spread the flying embers from the brush piles. Firefighters used hand lines and a brush truck to extinguish the fire, and a Forestry dozier plowed a fire break. Engine 5 Tanker 1 and Brush 2 responded.

Sequatchie County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene to assist. There were no injuries reported.
