Just after 3:00 Sunday morning, the Dunlap Fire Department was dispatched to NHC on Dell Trail for a fire alarm. Smoke in the building activated the alarm.
Employees reported smoke in the west wing and located a malfunctioning air conditioner in an empty room. They shut the door to the room and alerted maintenance. Maintenance cut power to the unit, and firefighters verified that no fire was present in the room.
There were no injuries, and thanks to the actions of employees, there was no danger to any of the residents. Employees and the fire alarm system prevented any life-threatening danger to the residents.
