Winds Up to 62mph Reported during Storms on Tuesday
Haletown Volunteer Fire crews responded to Hwy 41 late Tuesday afternoon when strong thunderstorms powered through the area, knocking down trees. Intense winds caused trees to fall onto the highway, making it unpassable at Sullivans Landing and near the Upper Bank restaurant. After a period of time, firemen were able to clear the roadway.
Winds were reported as high as 62mph at the Chattanooga Airport.
