On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, the Dunlap Fire Department was dispatched to a 2-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of SR 399 and SR 8/111.
Firefighters used Jaws of Life to remove the driver’s side door and extricate one victim. Two victims were transported by Puckett EMS to an LZ and were flown to Erlanger by LifeForce Air Medical Center. No information on injuries was available.
Piney VFD was requested for mutual aid and helped with the extrication. Cagle VFD established a LZ for the 2 helicopters. Sequatchie EMA assisted with traffic. Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident with Sequatchie County Sheriff’s assistance.
