Outdoor Burning Request after Firefighters Respond to Grass Fire

On Sunday, just before 6 PM, the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department responded to a brush fire in the 500 block of Hancock Road. Firemen found an acre of grass had burned.

Jasper Highlands responded for mutual aid to assist Haletown.

The fire was caused by some boxes being burned in a pile.

Haletown Volunteer Fire Department reminds everyone that we are extremely susceptible to brush fires due to humidity, high temperatures, and severe drought; burning is unsafe. Please hold off on any activities that could cause a fire until we get heavy rain.
