School Threat Scare was NOT for Marion County Tennessee

At 6:40 Monday morning, Marion County E911 dispatchers received a report of a potential threat to Marion County High School in Jasper, TN. The threat was communicated through Snapchat. In response, the SRD mobilized additional law enforcement to investigate further. Thanks to the swift action of all involved, including Homeland Security, who determined that the Snapchat threat originated from Marion County, Kentucky. Local authorities there were alerted and located a subject of interest that was brought in for questioning.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is grateful for the prompt responses from the Marion County E911 dispatchers, Sheriff’s Department deputies, School Resource Deputies, Homeland Security, and Marion County High School administration. Together, they stand firm to protect the students and the community.
