Marion County Winery Wins Case Versus Tennessee’s Alcoholic Beverage Commission

In a recent legal battle, Lookout Winery in Marion County emerged victorious against Tennessee’s Alcoholic Beverage Commission (ABC). The winery, located in the quaint community of Guild, TN, challenged a $5,000 citation from the ABC for allegedly selling alcohol to a minor.

The judge presiding over the case ruled in favor of Lookout Winery, citing that the ABC had employed deceptive tactics that violated its own regulations. Despite the win in court, the winery now faces a daunting challenge as it grapples with $40,000 in legal fees.

Chuck Bordogna, the owner of Lookout Winery, expressed disappointment as the state of Tennessee clarified that the ABC was not obligated to cover the legal expenses incurred by the winery during the legal proceedings.
