Last Thursday, chaos ensued on I-24 East as a series of accidents involving 12 vehicles unfolded, leaving drivers stranded in standstill traffic for a staggering 9 hours overnight.
According to the crash report released by the Georgia State Patrol, the wreckage began when a vehicle towing a camper was involved in a minor collision. The darkness obscured the accident from the following vehicle, resulting in a collision that set off a chain reaction of multiple vehicles, including six semis crashing into each other.
No serious injuries were reported.
