Alabama State Rep. Proposes Early Voting for the State

A state representative has pre-filed a bill to make voting available in Alabama as early as 17 days before election day.

Currently, absentee voting is the only way to vote before Election Day in Alabama.

Under the bill, polls would be open for at least eight continuous hours between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., no fewer than 2 weekdays each week, and between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturdays. Each Alabama county would operate at least one early voting center for every 100,000 residents.
