Motorists can expect slightly lower U.S. gas prices in 2025 as inflation eases and amid booming domestic oil production.
AAA data shows that after accelerating for much of the first half of the year, pump prices dipped in the second half of 2024. According to tracking service GasBuddy, nationwide, a gallon of regular gas now averages $2.98, down nearly 12 cents from a year ago.
The average price per gallon in Tennessee stood at $2.67 on Monday afternoon. The average gas price in Alabama was $2.72, and Georgia checked in at $2.89.
