Extremely Cold Weather On Its Way

A dangerous blast of Arctic air looks likely by early next week.

A strong Arctic cold front will arrive overnight Saturday into early Sunday. Rain is expected ahead of the front, but bitter-cold Arctic air will move in behind it.

The Arctic air will be the coldest weather of the season so far. Temperatures next Monday/Martin Luther King Jr. Day will start in the teens for most but be in the single digits for some. Temperatures during the afternoon won’t climb out of the 20s. It’ll feel much colder with a biting northwesterly wind.

Overnight lows for several days next week could be in the teens and single digits. Temperatures in portions of Tennessee could feel like zero, causing dangerous wind chills.
