The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development (TDLWD) has announced that unemployment rates in more than 20 Tennessee counties declined from the previous month.
December unemployment rates were down in 23 of the state’s 95 counties compared with November rates. Rates remained the same in 39 counties and increased in 33 counties.
All but five Tennessee counties recorded less than 5% unemployment rates in December. Those five counties had rates of 5% or greater but less than 10%, with the highest at 5.9%.
Moore County reported the lowest unemployment rate for December at 2.5%, down from 2.6% in November. Unicoi County reported the highest unemployment rate for the month at 5.9%, the same as in November.
Bledsoe County down from 5.4 percent in November to 5.2 percent in December.
Grundy County stayed the same at 4.1 percent.
Marion County’s unemployment rate for December was 4.1 percent, up from 3.9 percent in November.
Sequatchie County also increased from 4.2 percent in November to 4.3 percent in December.
