Chattanooga’s Walnut St. Bridge will be Closed for over One Year
The Walnut Street Bridge in Chattanooga will close on Monday for 18 months of renovations to improve safety and preserve its historic appeal.
The project will upgrade the main water line, install LED lighting, replace decaying decking, and enhance the electrical system on the pedestrian bridge with new cables. The bridge is scheduled to reopen in September 2026.
