SVEC Preventative Maintenance Pole Inspections begin Monday

Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative has contracted Osmose Utilities Services to perform preventative maintenance pole inspections beginning Monday, March 31, in Marion County. These inspections will continue throughout the spring in other counties across our service territory.

Crews will start in Downtown South Pittsburg near the Shelby Rhinehart Bridge, then move into New Hope before heading toward Ladd’s Mountain.

Residents may notice inspectors in and around their yards examining utility poles and transformers. Their work will include visual inspections, sound, and bore testing, as well as other evaluation methods. The images provided illustrate what these inspections might entail. Their trucks will display SVEC signs on the doors, indicating they are working under contract.

Pole inspections help identify and replace aging wooden poles before they fail due to age, insect damage, or storm-related wear. By proactively inspecting and replacing compromised poles, SVEC can reduce unnecessary outages and prevent damage to critical equipment.
