Two Juveniles Charged with Vandalism in Pikeville

On March 29, 2025, Pikeville Police Officer Matthew Brock responded to the United Methodist Church, located at 7 Methodist Street, in response to a reported vandalism incident in progress. Officer Brock contacted a witness who had observed two juvenile male subjects exiting the church after vandalizing the interior.

Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the juveniles had caused significant damage within the church. The vandalism included green paint thrown on floors and walls, tipped-over shelves and desks, discharged fire extinguishers, broken televisions and vases, and various musical instruments scattered about. Additionally, holes were found in the walls, and water was left running in the basement in an attempt to flood the area. One of the juveniles was also found to have an iPad belonging to the church.

The two juveniles have been charged with burglary, criminal trespass, vandalism over $10,000, and theft. They were released to their parents and are scheduled to appear in court on April 11 at 1 pm to address the charges.
