The Chattanooga Fire Department has introduced a new response team dedicated to combating wildfires throughout the state of Tennessee. According to the CFD, this initiative is in response to the increasing severity and frequency of wildfires within the state.
The department states that the Wildland Fire Team is a specialized unit, similar to the Swiftwater Rescue Team, designed to enhance its capabilities and deliver superior service.
Currently, there are 20 firefighters assigned to the Wildland Fire Team, with plans to expand this number in the future.
