A single-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon claimed the life of a Henagar, AL man, according to authorities. Zachary S. Smith, 27, was fatally injured when the 2003 Yamaha Road Star motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and struck a ditch.
Smith was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred at approximately 1 p.m. on Jackson County 78, about five miles west of Ider in Jackson County.
Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue investigating the incident.
