A historic restaurant in Tracy City has been deemed a total loss after a fire.
The Hargis family owns The Annex Cafe, which has been in operation since 1935. They say it caught on fire Saturday morning.
They say a grease fire started around 6 a.m. and spread through to the second floor of the restaurant building.
The family is now regrouping and reformulating its plans, so it’s unknown whether they’ll rebuild the gutted 65-year-old eatery.
The Tracy City Fire Dept., Tracy City Police Dept., Monteagle Fire Dept., Sewanee Fire Dept., Constable Kyle Collins, and Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the fire.
