East Ridge Police confirm a 22-month-old boy who was involved in the crash on I-75 on Mother’s Day has passed away.
Sawyer Gene Smith was the son of Lane and Baleigh Smith of Fayetteville, Tennessee.
Lane died after the deadly crash on Mother’s Day on I-75 in East Ridge.
Brynlee, the Smiths’ daughter, was airlifted to Vanderbilt in the wake of that crash.
East Ridge Police say Sawyer’s family chose to donate his organs to save someone else’s life after the crash.
Police also confirmed that David Huggins from Dawsonville, Georgia, died at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer who initiated the crash, Joseph Antoinier, is facing more than a dozen charges.
