Brandon Evers’ jail intake photo
On June 23, 2025, at approximately 11:00 P.M., officers with the Scottsboro Police Department were conducting a safety checkpoint in the 2100 block of AL Hwy 79. During the checkpoint, officers made contact with a vehicle driven by Rachel Gatlin, with a male passenger identified as Brandon Evers.
After Gatlin was unable to provide the requested documentation, officers instructed the vehicle to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway. While speaking with both occupants, officers asked them to exit the vehicle. Evers consented to a search of his person, during which officers located a Hydrocodone tablet.
Based on this discovery, a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. Officers located approximately 3.62 grams of a mixture containing Methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Brandon Evers was placed under arrest and charged with:
- Possession With Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance (Meth/Fentanyl)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Hydrocodone)
Evers was transported to the Scottsboro City Jail, booked without incident, and later transferred to the Jackson County Jail for felony charges. No charges were reported on the driver.
