Jasper Highlands Fire Department Becomes Affiliate Member of the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads

The Jasper Highlands Fire Department (JHFD) is now an official Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads (TARS) affiliate member. This is an Association of Life-Saving, Rescue, and First Aid Units, with members organized, trained, and equipped for various rescues and first aid work.

TARS also provides a variety of rescue training, which offers potential cost savings for TARS members. The team’s recognition of the JHFD is due to its ongoing efforts to expand its skill set to include vehicle extrication, search and rescue, and vertical rope rescue.

In short, Jasper Highlands is now considered a rescue squad and a volunteer fire department with EMS capability. Expanding the departmental skills and capabilities led to this recognition, which is testament to our team members’ hard work, dedication, commitment, and training certifications to serve the Jasper Highlands community and, if called upon, Marion County and the State of Tennessee.
