Grundy County authorities are seeking public assistance following two recent fires.
The first incident occurred on August 17, 2025, at 7:39 p.m. The Palmer Fire Department (PFD) responded to a structure fire involving a fifth-wheel camper. Crews arrived and found the camper completely on fire. PFD extinguished the blaze, and the cause remains under investigation.
At 2:27 a.m. on August 18, PFD responded to another structure fire involving a single-story home near Palmer Market and Big Mine Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found the building almost entirely on fire. PFD extinguished the fire, and the investigation is ongoing.
Individuals with information regarding these incidents are asked to contact the TBI Arson tip line at 1-800-762-3017. A $5,000 reward is available for information leading to the conviction of those responsible.
