Officials with the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC) are warning students about a couple of incidents from the weekend.
Both of the incidents involved parties.
Early Saturday morning, UTC received a report of a “possible aggravated assault by poisoning, commonly referred to as drink spiking,” that occurred off campus. The victim was treated at the emergency room.
The other incident involved a frat party, where a UTC student reported she had too much to drink and was offered a ride home.
But she said a suspect sexually assaulted her after taking her home.
Campus police report several drink spiking cases over the weekend. If you are the victim of such a crime, contact the UTC Police Department.
Officials say this is a good opportunity to talk to your college-aged children or even teenagers about these dangers and educate them on how to protect themselves from becoming a victim.
