Marion County 33, Brainerd 3. Mason Mays scored 3 times with a 30-yard punt return, a 3-yard run, and an 11-yard rushing TD. Ashton Martin scored on a 1-yard plunge, and Ashton Richards added a 2-yard rushing TD.

Sequatchie County, ranked No. 2 in the TSSAA Class 3A standings, maintained its pattern of alternating victories with Bledsoe County by winning 26-7 at home.

Strong defensive plays and several long offensive touchdowns, measuring 35, 51, and 68 yards, influenced the outcome.

Sequatchie County secured the win after a 7-7 tie at halftime, marking seven consecutive years of alternating results between the two teams.

Sequatchie County will play at Signal Mountain this Friday, with Country Roads 93.3 providing play-by-play coverage.

 

The Huntland Hornets defeated the Whitwell Tigers on Friday night, 24-14.

Adam McDougal led the Tigers with five catches for 112 yards and a touchdown, and Talon Beason threw for 99 yards and a score.

Brodie Harvey led Whitwell’s defense with seven tackles and a fumble recovery, and he also led his team in rushing with 66 yards.
