Saturday morning at 8:57, the Dunlap Fire and Police departments responded to a single-vehicle accident on Hwy 127 south of Rabbit Farm Road.
The vehicle ran off the highway approximately 35 feet down an embankment below the road on its top. One person in the vehicle could self-extricate himself and crawled up the embankment to alert a passing motorist.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and used Hurst eDRAULIC tools to extricate the second victim. They then set up a low-angle rope system to lift the victim up the embankment.
Dunlap Police assisted with the extrication and is performing the accident investigation.
Puckett EMS transported the second victim with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. No information was released on the first victim.
