On Wednesday, October 1st, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office responded to an abandoned home in Altamont, where suspected homemade pipe bombs were found. The area was cleared and secured for safety, and the Chattanooga Police Bomb Squad quickly responded and recovered the devices.
The sheriff’s department said they were grateful for their fast and professional work keeping our community safe.
No suspicious people were found in the area, and the investigation continues.
