Former Chief is New Police Chief in Whitwell
Cory Cleek was officially hired as the new Whitwell Police Department chief during last week’s city board meeting.
The Board of Mayor & Commissioners hired Cleek as the city’s newest police chief after former Chief David Boyd resigned in September. Cleek had been serving as Whitwell’s interim chief.
Cleek served as police chief in Whitwell from 2021 to 2023. He left to join Tennessee’s 12th Judicial Drug Task Force.
