A Grundy County deputy sustained injuries in a collision that occurred Wednesday morning in front of a Chattanooga gas station. The incident happened near 3709 Cummings Highway, adjacent to the MAPCO gas station.
According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the deputy’s vehicle was traveling westbound in the right lane with its emergency lights activated. Another vehicle attempted to make a left turn out of the gas station. It failed to yield to the emergency vehicle, resulting in an angled collision between the front ends of the two vehicles.
The report notes that the deputy was injured in the crash, while the other driver was unhurt. Authorities have not disclosed further information regarding the severity of the deputy’s injuries.
