An airman and father lost his life in a deadly hit-and-run in Dade County.
Emergency responders arrived at I-24 West near the two-mile marker in Trenton at around 9 p.m. on November 2nd. Demetrius Norwood III was fatally struck by a box truck while he was changing a flat tire, according to officials.
The initial crash report indicates that the truck swerved into his lane and hit him; the driver did not stop after the collision. Norwood was declared dead at the scene.
His girlfriend of three years, Jayda Hughes, recalls trying to warn him before tragedy struck.
