
Haletown brush fire on Friday
On Friday, February 13,2026 3:19 p.m. Haletown Fire and Rescue responded to a brush fire at 258 Substation Rd. Firemen were advised a brush fire was getting close to the substation area.
Upon arrival the brush fire had burned about 75 yards near the substation. Crews quickly began extinguishing the flames. Haletown Fire and Rescue had to work as a team to put out fire considering the vegetation and terrain. Finally extinguishing the fire, the crew did overhaul looking for hot spots and embers.

First brush fire in Haletown on Saturday
Saturday February 14,2026 4:52 p.m. Haletown Fire and Rescue reported to Mile Marker 165 at I-24 for a brush fire. Upon arrival we discovered it wasn’t on I-24, but was on the road adjacent which is Scratch Ankle Rd. After crossing the fence and contacting the homeowner. Haletown Fire and Rescue found the man had a permit and it was a controlled burn.

Haletown second brush fire on Saturday
Just after containing that fire Haletown Fire and Rescue responded to another brush fire at 5:46 p.m. On the way back to the hall, firemen reported to the Whiteside Church on Hwy 134. The fire was left unattended, but Haletown Fire and Rescue was able to extinguish the fire.
